Exploiting Web Redundancy for Answer Validation

Abstract:
In this talk, I will present my work on answer validation in question answering. In QA, where open domain systems are often required to rank huge amounts of candidate answers. Following some former work, we exploited the redundancy of web information using search engine to estimate the correlation of question and corresponding answers. Experiments carried out on the TREC-2006 collection show that our simple approach achieves better performance than before. Anyway it is far from completion, then after talking about my present preliminary work I will give my outlines for the next steps.
