IRTG Summer School in Computational Linguistics and
Psycholinguistics
September 7-15, 2008
PhD students doing research in computational linguistics and psycholinguistics are invited to participate in the IRTG summer school, which will be held in Edinburgh this year. The IRTG (International Research Training Group) is a collaboration between the University of Edinburgh and Saarland University, Saarbrücken. Each year there is a summer school with invited talks and student projects.
This year's summer school will take place from September 7-15, 2008, and will include:
- Keynote talks by invited speakers, as well as talks by Edinburgh and Saarbrücken faculty
- Presentations by PhD students from both sites, with commentary sessions in which students will receive feedback from invited speakers, faculty, and other students
- A project component in which students will work in small teams on projects in computational linguistics and psycholinguistics
The summer school will take place in the Informatics Forum, the purpose-built new home of Informatics in the centre of Edinburgh.

All PhD students in Informatics and PPLS can take part in the summer school. Participation is free of charge, but the number of places is limited. If you are interested in taking part, please email Frank Keller by July 4, 2008 with the following information:
- title of your PhD project, name of your supervisor
- whether you are interested in organizing a student project
- whether you will attend the whole summer school (9 days, including the project component)
Preference will be give to students who are willing to participate in the whole event. The consent of your supervisor is required for participation.
