The time we have off

On the first Sunday night (Sept 7th), we'll be going to the restaurant Kalpna.

Suggested evening activities during the week (participation is of course optional)

  1. Pub Crawl: The Standing Order (good affordable food, large choice in drinks, good decor) Doctor's (nice Ales, good decor), other pubs tbd.
  2. Ceilidh (Tuesday, 8pm, Grass Market; if we can get enough tickets)
  3. small hike up Arthur's Seat
  4. Golf on Bruntsfield links, then whisky trial evening at the Bow Bar.
  5. Edinburgh Underground Tour: historical Mary King's Close (£7.50 / student)

On the second weekend (Sept 13th / 14th), we'll be offering a number of one-day trips.
On Saturday, we have two trips, one to North Berwick (possible activities: climb North Berwick Law, go to the Seabird center, go on a boat tour to Bass Rock, enjoy the beach, hike to Tantallon Castle Ruin) and Roslin Chapel (visit Roslin Chapel and go for a walk in Roslin Glen).
On Sunday, there's going to be a half-day trip to the Edinburgh Royal Botanical Gardens, or a full-day trip to the Scottish Highland Games in Peebles (to watch traditional heavy event-competitions like caber-tossing, or throwing stones, highland dancing and pipe band competitions).
