Abstract:
In order to design a user-friendly interface, the system model for interaction must be congruent with that of the user's internal model. When the user's internal model and the actual system interface design differ, the end result can be confusion and an ineffective and inefficient to use interface. By exemplifying the domain of intelligent product consulting this contribution aims to discuss how this cognitive gap can be bridged by user-adaptivity through the application of cognitive science research results.
