Grammar Extraction and Induction

Abstract:
Recent years have shown that data-driven methods of grammar development not only apply to shallow methods, but can be extended to deep methods (CCG, HPSG) as well. A restriction is found in the depth of the resulting grammars, which still can not compete with hand-crafted grammars. With a larger core grammar and a more detailed resource treebank, I explore the possibility to tighten this gap.
