Matthew W. Crocker is Professor of Psycholinguistics in the Department of Language Science & Technology at Saarland University.
Biography
Matthew W. Crocker studied computer science in Canada before specialising in computational linguistics and completing a doctorate in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh.
His research combines high-resolution experimental methods with computational modelling to explain how people map linguistic signals onto meaning in real time, and how comprehension is shaped by cognitive architecture, linguistic experience and immediate context. In 1995, he co-founded the annual AMLaP conference with Martin Pickering.
