Open position on SALSA project

The Department of Computational Linguistics at Saarland University, Saarbruecken, Germany, invites applications for a research position ("Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter") in the area of computational semantics.

The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research activities in the SALSA project. She or he should have a university degree in computational linguistics or computer science with strong background on Natural Language Processing. The candidate should have experience in data-driven and statistical methods in NLP, and in at least one of the following areas:

Good programming experience in the field of NLP tasks are preferable. Good team working skills are also desirable.

Saarbruecken University is one of the leading European research sites in Computational Linguistics and offers an active, stimulating research environment. Close cooperations exist with other disciplines (esp. Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence). The institute offers an international MSc program, hosts the International Post-Graduate College in Language Technology and Cognitive Systems, and participates in the Excellence Cluster "Multimodal Computing and Interaction".

The start date for the position is as soon as possible. The duration is two years (extension possible). Salary and social benefits are according to Germany's public sector TVL E13 scale, currently between 2.900 and 4.210 Euro per month (before taxes), depending on formal qualification and professional experience.
