A pretty nice project I was involved in for quite some time is KochBot, a speaking kitchen assistant that can be controlled completely via language and answers even complex questions ("Kochbot, how many tomatoes do I need?").
Check out the project homepage here. Unfortunately this is not completely up-to-date. The app can be downloaded in the Google Play Store.
