After a lifetime of research in computational linguistics, semantics, and dialogue, Manfred Pinkal is going to retire this autumn.

We will celebrate Manfred's academic life to remind him and us of the impact he has had on his research fields and on the lives of other people in style with a one-day workshop on October 1. We envision a day at which some of Manfred's closest friends and collaborators speak about Manfred the scientist, Manfred the academic politician, and especially Manfred the person. Of course, knowing Manfred, such an event would not be complete without giving the man himself the opportunity for a speech, and there will also be food and drinks.
