Models of Speech Production

WiSe 2013/2014, Möbius, Seminar, LSF/HIS #75327

M.Sc. LST, Specialization course, area SS&T/L

Thu 14:15-15:45, C7.2/5.09

Prerequisites

M.Sc. course "Speech Science" (recommended)

Content

The seminar is concerned with the production of spoken language by humans and with theories and models of speech production. We will read, present, and critically discuss selected research papers. Participants should be prepared to do extensive reading and to give a presentation on one of the topics. After an introduction and a map of the field by the lecturer, research papers pertaining to the individual topics will be presented by the students. Presentations should not exceed 45 minutes and serve primarily as a basis for discussion. Presenters should feel free to propose a specific structure for their session.

Assessments

7 CP (presentation and paper, or presentation and 2 reviews) or 4 CP (presentation only)
