An overview of a theory for presupposition justification
Peter KrauseInstitut für maschinelle Sprachverarbeitung
University of Stuttgart
This talk is about a theory of presupposition satisfaction and accommodation. Presupposition justification is reconstructed as abductive inference. This is motivated by accommodation phenomena.
I will explain the differences to related previous theories (in particular, those of Van der Sandt 1992 and Beaver 1995) by discussing examples in detail.
