Michael Jellinghaus

I am currently located at the Directorate-General for Translation (DG TRAD) of the European Parliament in Luxembourg where I am mainly developing machine translation systems for translators.

My research interests lie in statistical machine translation (SMT), hybrid machine translation, and deep linguistic processing with HPSG, while maintaining a keen interest in most other aspects of language technology.

In the past, I have spent a year in Japan under the Vulcanus Programme of the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation where I developed speech recognition software for Asahi Kasei. I also worked on some exciting projects at Saarland University's Department of Computational Linguistics and Phonetics and at the Language Technology Lab of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). As a PhD student, I went on an exchange to the Center for Language and Speech Processing at the Johns Hopkins University.

Last but not least, a list of my publications is also available.
