Leitung: Prof. Dr. Matthew Crocker

Format: Forschungsseminar

Liestungpunkte: Schein by arrangement

Beginn: Mo 30 Oktober 2000

Seminar: Mo 11-13 Uhr, Psycholinguistik: Bau 17.1, Raum 1.18

Inhalt:

This seminar is intended for researchers, PhD students, and Diplom students who have advanced research interests in experimental and computational psycholinguistics. The seminar will be used to discuss recent research papers and also for discussion and development of experimental and computational modelling work being conducted within the Psycholinguistics group. Students wishing to participate in the seminar will be expected to participate actively in discussion, to lead discussion in several sessions, and contribute to the groups research goals.

The seminar will focus on the issue of adaptation and optimisation the cognitive mechanisms which underlie human language production and comprehension. Emphasis will be placed on the critical discussion and evaluation of probabilistic and connectionist models, and consideration of the relevant experimental findings. Ongoing experimental research using visual world eye-tracking and reading techniques will also be presented and developed.
