A WordNet Detour to FrameNet (Summary)

This tool searches FrameNet data using WordNet.

1. For an input word (lemma), the user is prompted to choose the intended WordNet sense.

2. The central algorithm of this tool assigns one or more FrameNet frames by:
  1. Collecting WordNet-related words for the input (Synonyms, Hypernyms, Antonyms).
  2. Looking up all frames for these words in the FrameNet data.
  3. Weighting the frames in order to return the best one(s).
This paper describes the functionality in more detail and presents first evaluation results.
