Die Rolle von Diskursverpflichtungen in
bewertungsorientierten Informationsdialogen

One
challenge for natural language systems is that of dealing with
discourse obligations such as those created by questions, promises,
and even silences. In the context of evaluation-oriented
noncooperative dialog situations, the present paper presents a new
approach and its realization in a dialog system. Within this basically
decision-theoretic framework, a discourse obligation is seen as
influencing the selection of subsequent dialog moves by increasing the
costs associated with moves that do not fulfill the obligation. This
basically decision-theoretic selection of moves is guided by a dialog
planner that takes into account long-term dialog goals.
