Machine Translation using Tectogrammatics

Abstract:
The talk will be focused on a new hybrid MT system aimed at using the ideas of the tectogrammatical layer of language representation (as introduced by Petr Sgall in 1960's) for the purposes of Machine Translation. Basic design decisions concerning the architecture of the system will be briefly described. The system widely profits from the technology (and linguistic scheme) developed during the Prague Dependency Treebank project.
