Factored Machine Translation

Abstract:
Factored translation is a novel method of augmenting information of words to improve machine translation. Over the year, we have implemented a form of factored translation and have conducted experiments to gauge its performance, with encouraging results. We intend follow and improve on the factored model with more complex models which can make better use of factors.
We will also look at several applications where factors can help.
