Enhancing deep parsing with input annotation from shallow tools

Abstract:
In this talk I will describe the different attempts I have made to improve the performance of the PET HPSG parser by enhancing the input using various shallow processing tools. I will outline which forms of input annotation were most beneficial for different input data, and also discuss approaches that can not work with PET's current implementation.
