Within the master programs the Phonetics Research Group is currently involved in the M.Sc. Language Science and Technology, e.g.:

  • core courses Speech Science and Phonological Theory
  • participation in the lecture series Foundations of Language Science and Technology and in the Preparatory Course
  • advanced seminars
  • deepening lecture Text-to-Speech Synthesis (also for M.Sc. Computer Science)

2 Linguistics (12 CP)

  • Core course from area Linguistics (2+2 SWS 6 CP)
  • Core course from area Computational Linguistics (2+2 SWS 6 CP)

3 Additional Courses (min. 51 CP)

  • Core course Foundations of Language Science and Technology (4+2 SWS, 9 CP)
  • Non-core courses from areas Speech Science & Tech. and/or Linguistics (min. 9 CP)
  • Courses from areas Computational Linguistics, Language Technology and/or Computational Psycholinguistics
  • Courses from Computer Science and/or Cognitive Psychology (8-15 CP)

6 Master's Thesis (30 CP)

Students in the European Masters Program in Language and Communication Technologies (LCT) with a focus on Phonetics and Speech Technolgy have the opportunity to participate in an exchange with the Groupe Parole at LORIA in Nancy (France).
