Tuition fee (Infrastructure fee)

The current infrastructure fee for Saarland University is 223 Euros per semester, which includes the cost of a semester ticket for all local buses and trains.

Health insurance

Students from an EU or EFTA member state must provide an EHIC chip card (European Health Insurance Card) as proof that they are insured under a statutory health insurance scheme in their home country. On presentation of the EHIC to a German health insurance fund in Germany you will be issued with the requisite insurance certificate.

Students from other countries must take out student insurance to cover their stay in Germany. Student health insurance cover typically costs about 60 Euros per month (as of March 2012).
