Statistics Lecturer: Pirita Pyykkönen-Klauck Course dates: February 13-24, 2012 Building C7 1 Room: U15 (basement) Lectures: 10:15am-1:45pm (Note: 13.2. we'll start at 11:15) Excercises: 2pm-4pm Credits: 3 CP Course Contents The course provides an introduction to descriptive and inferential statistics in experimental linguistics and includes the following topics: Basic concepts in experimental research, the nature of different types of quantitative data, basic statistical techniques applicable to different types of data, presentation and interpretation of results. The basics of the statistical package R will be introduced in order to organise, analyse and present data.
