Course Contents

The course provides an introduction to descriptive and inferential statistics in experimental linguistics and includes the following topics: Basic concepts in experimental research, the nature of different types of quantitative data, basic statistical techniques applicable to different types of data, presentation and interpretation of results. The basics of the statistical package R will be introduced in order to organise, analyse and present data.

Course Requirements

Students are expected to dedicate all days during 21.2.-4.3.2011 between 10:15-14:00 for lectures and 14:15-(17:45) for afternoon "homework".

Remember to bring your own laptop every day!

Bring also a lunch box; we will have short breaks, but no longer than 30min each.
