"A General Linearization Model (GLM)" Ciprian Gerstenberger I propose a simple framework for dealing with linearization, one of the various steps of the process of Natural Language Generation. From a conceptual point of view, I motivate a mereological description of the natural language utterance as best suited for the task of linearization. Since the linearization model we propose employs only a single type of entities -- the Linear Order Part (LOP) -- to describe various linguistic structures in a language-independent, uniform way, this model is interesting also from a practical point of view.
