The TaCoS

TaCoS (for the german term Tagung der Computerlinguistik-Studierenden) is an annual meeting of students in computational linguistics and related curricula, such as linguistics, information science, phonetics, etc. It takes place at a different university each year and is organised by the students themselves.

TaCoS is meant to provide a platform of communication for students from different universities - but not only about scientific subjects. Another aim is to give students the occasion to get in touch with representatives from companies in the field of natural language processing. By the industry presenting their natural language processing techniques, students can gain insight into current applications of NLP and form an idea of possible future occupations. Current projects and diploma -, masters-, and graduation-theses presented by students and young scientists provide the grounds for scientific discussion among participants.
