Workshop venue

The venue is the Center for Research in Language and Technology (ZSF-Neubau).

You can find an interactive map of the campus here.

Below is a more detailed outline of the way from the campus bus stop to the conference location:

It may be useful to print this map for your reference.

Traveling to Saarbruecken

By plane
(1) The main airport is Frankfurt Airport, an international airport that is easy to reach from most locations. From Frankfurt Airport you can catch a train to Saarbruecken (ca. 2:30 hrs)

(2) Another option is the Ryanair Airport Frankfurt/Hahn. It mainly serves inner-European flights. Attention, despite its name it is not in Frankfurt. To get from the airport to Saarbruecken and back you can catch a bus (runs several times a day).

By train from Frankfurt Airport
Frankfurt airport has two train stations, and you can catch a train to Saarbruecken from both:
(1) ''Regionalbahnhof'' for regional trains and
(2) ''Fernbahnhof'' for faster IC/ICE trains.

You can buy tickets either at the counter or at the information terminals of these train stations. Alternatively you can plan ahead and book your ticket online: the German trains offer an international page in English for booking.

Driving yourself
For detailed information on the location of the University (i.e., if you plan to travel there by car), see the following page: Saarland University location

Getting around in Saarbruecken

You can buy tickets for the buses at the main train station in Saarbruecken (VGS shop (''Verkehrsverbund''). The VGS shop is near the bakery once you are inside the train station. Alternatively, you can buy tickets on the bus. For timetables of the Saarbruecken buses and trams, please query Saarbahn.

Attention, some of these bus lines may not run on weekends or at different times on weekends and workdays. For more specific information please ask at your hotel and check the schedules that are typically posted at each bus stop.

At the University get off at the stop "Universitaet Campus". The buses typically stop once right before entering the main gate; then they pass a huge sculpture with at a tiny roundabout, and the stop immediately after that is "Universitaet Campus". At this bus stop you will see a cross-roads. Turn right (the sculpture and main entrance gate are behind you) and follow the street until you reach a dead end with a parking lot. The building right in front of you is the Department of Computational Linguistics (C 7.2). Cross the entrance hall, and you will arrive in front of the workshop venue, the Center for Research in Language and Technology. The room in which the workshop takes place is located on the second floor ("Conference Room").
